The 3-day ITIL 4 Direct, Plan and Improve (DPI) training provides IT professionals with practical skills needed to build an IT organization that learns, improves, and at the same time is focused on achieving its strategic goals.

The training addresses the impact of working methods such as Agile and Lean on the organization and how these methods can be used to build competitive advantage. It also discusses the approach to planning and continuous improvement while maintaining the necessary flexibility/ agility.

The ITIL 4 DPI training discusses and explains the principles, methods and techniques that can be used to guide, plan and improve an organization at every management level.

It points out that leadership and management play a leading role in the ITIL service value system. It focuses on risk management and the nature, scope and benefits of Organizational Change Management.

This course will enable participants to:

  • Understand the key concepts of Direct, Plan & Improve.
  • Understand the scope of what is to be directed and/or planned, and know how to use key principles and methods of direction and planning in that context.
  • Understand the role of Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) and know how to integrate the principles and methods into the service value system.
  • Understand and know how to use the key principles and methods of continual improvement for all types of improvements.

ITIL®4 Strategist: Direct, Plan and Improve IT exam is held remotely. The exam is included in the price of the training.

Number of marks: 40 marks. There are 40 questions, each worth 1 mark. There is no negative marking.

Provisional Pass mark: 28 marks. You will need to get 28 questions correct (70%) to pass the exam.

Question types: Standard classic, Negative, & List. The questions are all ‘multiple choice’. For the ‘standard classic’ questions, you have a question and four answer options. ‘Negative’ questions are ‘standard’ question in which the stem is negatively worded. For the ‘list’ questions, there is a list of four statements and you have to select two correct statements from the list.

Exam duration: 90 minutes. Candidates taking the exam in a language that is not their native or working language may be awarded 25% extra time, i.e. 113 minutes in total.
